4 Bedroom Detached House
Welcome to the Lake District home that your mind’s eye imagined. Peaceful and tranquil. No road noise. A little piece of heaven. Glen Rowan, a home where living is done in harmony with nature. As you pull up the sweeping driveway, relaxation immediately takes hold. Let us show you around this enchanting hideaway.
Come in, shake off your coat and step through the light airy hallway into the first of two lavish living rooms. This grand room oozes sophisticated style so let’s linger a while. Pull up an armchair and stoke up a crackling fire in the regal fireplace surrounded in traditional Lakeland slate. From here you can marvel as the sun bathes over the luscious Lyth Valley. What better place to spend a cosy winter’s evening as the snow settles upon the distant hills – you can see as far as Lancaster on a clear day.
Once you’ve warmed yourself by the fire, follow us through to the conservatory and pause a moment to admire the beautifully manicured garden beyond. On a balmy summer’s evening why not step out onto the patio terrace to sip a crisp glass of Sancerre as the evening sun lingers on the horizon.
Come with us into the kitchen, where you can cook up a hearty supper on the induction hob. A beautifully curated mix of traditional Lakeland green slate on the floor combined with modern luxuries, such as instant hot water taps and underfloor heating, allows you to enjoy country living with a sprinkling of urban ease.
From here, seamlessly proceed with us through to your breakfast room. Enjoy a freshly squeezed glass of orange juice whist looking out on picture postcard views across the lush and verdant valley beyond.
Follow us through now as we take a peek into the utility room, perfectly positioned towards the rear of your home alongside the handy cloakroom. Where better to offload your mucky gear and freshen up after a bracing morning in your 6.5 acres of land?
Peep into two of the three double bedrooms awaiting you downstairs. As both of these spacious rooms have those same breathtaking views out over the verdant valley, the kids won’t be squabbling over who gets the best room – it’s impossible to decide! And as the ever-so-slightly-smaller of the two rooms comes replete with gleaming en-suite, everyone’s a winner. Perhaps getting your youngsters up for school on those crisp mornings won’t be such a chore when they can warm their toes on the underfloor heated floor whilst brushing their teeth!
Down the hall to the pristine family bathroom. Enjoy a long foaming bubble bath and soothe those aching limbs after a successful morning’s hack along the country lanes.
Out into the hallway and up a set of stairs and you have reached the resplendent master suite. Where better to retire for the evening than your own personal paradise? Take in the views across the fields, and soothe your spirit in the frothing jets of your Jacuzzi bath.
Time to explore the second half of this idyllic house, where yet another capacious bedroom complete with walk-in-wardrobe and decadent bathroom await discovery. However, it is the sumptuous sitting room that we’ve been waiting to show you…
Here you have found our favourite room in Glen Rowan. With one fully glazed façade facing out over the Lyth Valley, this vault-ceilinged chamber has natural light streaming through and offers you unrestricted, panoramic views that will keep you entertained all year round. And don’t worry about nipping downstairs to make a cuppa; there’s even a dazzling new kitchen up here meaning you could live up here quite self-contained.
Now it’s time that we head into the great outdoors to breathe in that famed, fresh, Lake District air. First stop…your glorious garden.
Take a turn amongst the heather and evergreen trees in the front garden. Everything you see is easy maintenance and, best of all, home to feathered friends galore.
Head to the back of the house and sit on the beautiful paved area and watch the stunning array of wildlife flitting to and fro: kestrels, buzzards, woodpeckers, owls, hares, rabbits and deer all call Glen Rowan home. Take out your binoculars in the springtime and spot the kestrel nest on the end of the barn. Watch in awe as these protected birds fledge their nest. A nature lover’s dream.
Admire the wooden built pagoda, festooned in brightly coloured clematis in the warmer months. Listen to the playful tinkling of the water feature by the pond as you relax and unwind with a refreshing iced drink.
But pull on your boots; you still have six and a half acres of land to explore – including an acre of woodland, a sizeable wood store and four stables. The current owners even had room for their own golf course!
