Designed and delivered with meticulous consideration for the finest of details; North Lodge in Allithwaite is a home built with love and skill. Preserving a peaceful distance only moments away from the honeypot tourist destinations of Cartmel and Grange-Over-Sands, Allithwaite retains an authentic feel of the Lake District loved by the poets of old.

Discover North Lodge along a quiet, tree-lined road, where there is parking on the drive for several cars. There is also a large, detached garage available, easily mistakable for a self-contained bungalow in its handsome construction - but more on that a little later...

Built in 1833 as part of the Boarbank Hall estate, located just across the road, North Lodge has been sympathetically and impressively extended.

Now a self-contained holiday cottage, or separate living accommodation for relatives, the original 'North Lodge' is accessed to the left of a light-filled glazed entrance hall, which provides enticing peeks of the rear courtyard.

From the glass entrance hall linking the two sides of the home, cross the light oak-toned Karndean flooring into the contemporary, extended side of North Lodge on the right.

Karndean flooring continues through to the kitchen-dining-living room, an extensive space, simply designed to embrace modern living.

Slice, dice and prepare with ease at the central, granite-topped island, with inset sink and integrated dishwasher. Surrounding, cream units contain a stylish, Rangemaster double oven and matching freestanding feature fridge-freezer with ice dispenser. From Karndean step on to comforting carpet, where an open-plan sitting room adds sociability to the scene.
A fantastic family space, hunker down on the sofa in front of the grand log burning stove, situated within its inglenook fireplace.

Sneak a peek at the roomy office, located close to the glass entrance hall and featuring a fitted worktop.

Returning to the entrance hall, take the oak staircase up to the right, turning left to discover the upstairs snug. Overlooking the lush garden and field beyond, this light-filled lounge is ideal for catching the last of the evening sun.

Across from the snug, snuggle down to sleep in the first of four bedrooms at North Lodge.
Distinguished by its handy built-in storage and direct access through French doors to the rear patio, this neutrally decorated double bedroom is warm, welcoming and snug.

Continue along the wide hallway, where natural light streams down through the light tunnels overhead.
A second bedroom is located on the left, pristine in its finish with double built-in wardrobes. Featuring its own ensuite shower room, a third double bedroom lies across the way.

Across from this bedroom is a large family bathroom. Tiled in latte-toned tiles to the walls, with Karndean underfoot, sink into the Jacuzzi bathtub for a muscle-soaking treat after a long day.

Rivalling the finest spa hotel suites, sneak a peek at the master bedroom, located at the end of the hall.
Open the French doors and soak up the views of the surrounding countryside right down to the vistas of Morecambe Bay from the Juliet balcony. Completing the master suite is the pristine ensuite shower room replete with dual sinks, double shower cubicle, WC and a towel rail.

Offering so much potential and versatility, in addition to the attached holiday cottage, the detached garage (resembling a chalet in its design) contains its own patio doors leading out to a terrace. Built to an impressive specification fully fitted with electrics, this could be the perfect base for a home business.
There is even the potential to develop it as a one bed bungalow, subject to planning permission; it contains separate parking for two cars.

The Holiday Cottage

Attached to the main house, and accessed through its own external entry porch, or by turning left through a sturdy oak fire door from the main atrium, is North Lodge's very own holiday cottage. Arriving through either entrance brings you into the cheerfully decorated kitchen-diner.

Farmhouse styling emanates from the oak cabinets and drawers of the kitchen. Within the worktop, a 1.5 size stainless steel sink is set, with views out of the window above to the leafy grounds.
Terracotta-toned splashback tiles surround the units, preserving the wall behind the electric hob and cooker. A washer-dryer and fridge-freezer are integrated within the oak units, which also provide plentiful storage. A separate boiler for this side of the house is located in a large cupboard to the right of the door.

Clad in neutral grey tartan-style carpet, the lounge features built in cupboards to the far end. An impressive stone fireplace is a toasty focal point around which to gather with the log burner lit on chilly winter nights.

Tucked off to the left of the lounge, a hallway leads through to the first of two bedrooms.
Amply-sized with space for a super-king-size or twin beds, with built in storage. Opposite, a second double bedroom contains a chest of drawers and wardrobe, drawing in light from windows on two sides.

Nestled between both bedrooms is the shower room. Gleaming beige panelling runs from top to bottom, with a comfortably-sized shower, floating sink, WC and towel rail.

Garden

Outside, the paved terrace and sheltered courtyard leads on to lawn, flowing out into the field.
In the evenings, enjoy the drama of the blushing sunset over the rolling countryside as its golden palette shifts to an inky sheen. As the seasons change, so do the vistas with ever alternating scenes over Humphrey Head and Morecambe Bay. Views seem magnified here, with so much green in spring when the leaves are full; the vista of the little stone barn in the fields in front are framed to create a post card scene, down the valley over Humphrey Head and on to the bay.
