Surrounded by a striking backdrop of fells including Causey Pike, Grisedale and High Stile and nestled within this peaceful and friendly village is Old Farm House Mews, and its collection of eight holiday cottages.

Drive into the courtyard, where there are two parking spaces for the whitewashed farmhouse and one for each of the cottages. Step through the angled front door to the main farmhouse and into a porch, flagged with the original stone. The perfect base from where to run a family business of holiday cottage rentals, this traditional farmhouse is brimming with original features.

Follow the flagged floor through to the kitchen, where the whitewashed ceiling strikes a contrast with the rosy red Aga. Oak fitted kitchen with plentiful storage, set beneath hardy worktops and rustic stone splashback tiles. Emanating cosy warmth the red Aga is supplemented by an electric cooker.

Continue through and turn left into the traditionally styled living area, where a large and inviting lounge occupies the left-hand side of the room. Drawn to the substantial fireplace, topped by a treacle-toned beam and housing a large log burner on a black slate plinth, note the date inscribed in the stone above '1656'. To the back of the living room, step through the squared off archway where the lounge has been opened up to the dining room beyond. A door leads out to a small slate porch, and beyond into a small outdoor seating area, neatly graveled and private.

Turning left from the lounge entrance, carry on along the stone paved corridor, noting the quirky shapes to the walls and nooks and crannies for storage, before arriving at another snug lounge.
An ideal television room, office or playroom for children; a large internal window looks down from the landing above.

Take the door at the end out to a private patio, sheltered and sunny, with glorious views of the fells.

Returning indoors, take the carpeted staircase up from the hallway, turning past a quarter landing and taking in the view from the window.

Ascending to the main landing, peep down into the snug lounge from the large internal window, before continuing on to the family bathroom ahead.

Neutrally decorated, a large roll-top bath sits before the window, bathed in light. Centrally filled, with showerhead attachment, sink into the deep tub and soak away your cares.
On the left, dual sinks are set within marble-style surfaces, with an array of built-in storage beneath.

Turning left out of the bathroom, discover the countrified charm of bedroom three. Featuring a traditional cast iron fireplace set within a uniquely styled chimney breast, this room is brimming with originality. Currently housing twin beds, this room could accommodate a king-size bed easily.

Carrying on along the landing to the right discover the light-filled, vaulted ceiling delights of bedroom two.
Original beams crisscross the ceiling, whilst for a modern twist, an ensuite bathroom lies beyond featuring a shower cubicle, integrated WC and wash basin within vanity unit and built in towel storage.

Finally, arrive at the master bedroom. Fitted with three large wardrobes along the back wall, this is a spacious and soothing bedroom, with views out to the surrounding fellsides.

Annex Cottage
Attached to the main farmhouse is Annex Cottage, a traditionally modern one-bedroom holiday let which can also be accessed via its own front porch entrance.

Head in and through to the open-plan kitchen diner and living room, clad in light-toned laminate flooring.

With abundant space for a dining table and two sofas, three independent spaces come together, with the kitchen along the back wall.

Light toned wooden kitchen units provide storage for crockery and pans, with integrated appliances including oven, hob, fridge and sink.

Plenty of storage for cleaning essentials in the understairs cupboard, before heading upstairs to sneak a peek at the bedroom.

Brimming with light, freeflowing from windows to the front and rear, this is a bright and welcoming bedroom.

Overhead a vaulted ceiling displays textured, pale wooden beams in a nod to the heritage of the farmhouse.

Supremely spacious, with peaceful country views, there is also storage beneath the windowsill and in the large in-built wooden wardrobe.

Mews Cottages:

Old Farm House Mews is more than just a farmhouse with a roaring log burner and cosy Aga, it is an exciting business prospect, coming with eight cottages in addition to Annex Cottage.

Originally stables and hay barns and also featuring an array of original features; this selection of one and two-bedroom holiday lets each embrace their own unique style and charm.

Cottage number one, formerly a stable, stone fronted and overlooking the courtyard, is styled in a similar manner to Annex Cottage, featuring an open-plan sitting-dining room kitchen. Rustic, textured, whitewashed walls extend high up, where overhead a mezzanine level, with sleeping accommodation, looks down.

For accessible accommodation, cottage number two is ideal, featuring a ground floor bedroom. Enter into an open-plan space, with a kitchen diner to the right, with white cupboard fronts and featuring a gas hob and electric oven and freestanding fridge-freezer. Above the lounge to the left, stairs lead up to the mezzanine bedroom. To the right of the lounge is a shower room with WC and wash basin.

Cottage number three is also accessible, with all living space on ground floor level - featuring a similar open-plan lounge-dining-kitchen and shower room as the other cottages. Super spacious, this cottage is nestled in the corner.

Popular with dog owners due to its hygienic laminate flooring, is cottage number eight, formerly a haybarn. With a more modern feel, both this cottage and number nine (also a former haybarn) are one bedroom lets with access to a private seating area outdoors.
